Dangerous Freight

Dangerous (hazardous) goods are substances, materials and articles prohibited for carriage under the transport regulations, or subject to compliance with requirements specified therein.

Dangerous cargo transportation is carried out by specially equipped vehicles under specific temperature regime.

Detailed rules in respect of unimodal transport are issued by the UN or relevant security maintaining organizations. Road transport is regulated by the Act "L'Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route" (ADR), i.e. European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods, adopted on September 30, 1957 in Geneva.

Today, ours vehicles are provided with special ADR equipment, and our explicitly trained drivers are able to transport 11 of the 13 dangerous goods classes listed below.

Class 1: Explosive substances and devices intended for producing a pyrotechnic effect;

Class 2: Liquefied gases, dissolved gases and compressed gases;

  • 2.1 Flammable gases

  • 2.2 Non-flammable, non-toxic gases

  • 2.3 Toxic gases

Class 3: Flammable liquids, mixtures of liquids or liquids containing solids in solution or suspension which give off a flammable vapour (have a flash point) at temperatures of not more than 61°C in closed-cup test;

Class 4: Flammable solids, substances liable to spontaneous combustion when in contact with external ignition sources;

  • Division 4.2 – Substances liable to spontaneous combustion

  • Division 4.3 - Substances emitting flammable gases

Class 5: Oxidizers liable to yielding oxygen and contributing to combustion, as well as materials liable to self-ignition and explosion.

  • Division 5.1 – Oxidizing substances

  • Division 5.2 – Organic peroxides

Class 6: Toxic and infectious substances liable to cause intoxication, disease and death;

  • Division 6.1 – Toxic substances

  • Division 6.2 – Infectious substances

Class 7: Radioactive material;

Class 8: Corrosives liable to cause either severe skin damage, respiratory tract and mucosa corrosion or destruction of property and metal;

Class 9: Miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles;

THE PROCESS OF DANGEROUS GOODS TRANSPORT FROM THE USA

Transportation of dangerous goods unlike general cargo transport is marked by several distinguishing characteristics and requirements obligatory to the carrier:

We coordinate the details of the cargo, the price for transportation and other delivery conditions with the customer;

The consignor provides documents (invoice, packing list and other papers upon request), thereafter we check them for correspondence with the cargo and compliance with dangerous goods transport requirements;

The airline / sea shipping line confirms the booking for the present cargo transportation;

We package the goods under the regulations according to the safety data sheet, issue Dangerous Good Declaration;

The cargo is delivered to the airport / sea port, provided with a consignment note issued in the name of consignee;

Cargo insurance provided upon the request of the customer;

The customer receives the cargo at the airport / destination port in Russia, Europe, China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus in accordance with the consignment note and other shipping documents;

RATE CALCULATION

To contribute to prompt and precise rate calculation for dangerous goods transportation within the United States, the customer is kindly requested to provide the following information on the cargo:

  • Commercial invoice and cargo packing list;

  • MSDS (cargo safety data sheet);

  • Detailed description and UN number (according to the International classification of dangerous goods, each substance or article is identified by its own United Nations number)
